An Invincible Calm

There’s a point you will reach, usually not in the quiet moments, but in the most chaotic ones. Where you realize the noise around you isn’t something you can ever hope to quiet or control…Rather, the way you meet it, the way you sit still in its storms, defines what you are made of.
“In the midst of all the chaos,
I found there was, within me,
An invincible calm.”
It doesn’t always show up loudly, demanding an audience. It doesn’t always feel powerful and full of purpose, but nonetheless it’s there. The quiet center that survives every circumstance you’ve ever lived through.
It is the part of you that refuses to be uprooted. That still knows how to steady your breath. The part of you that keeps choosing to begin again, even when everything feels like just another end.
That’s the kind of calm that no force of chaos could ever hope to understand. Seek peace, not to avoid life's lessons of discomfort,
but because you’re learning to stand differently inside it.
Perhaps the real strength isn’t in avoiding chaos at all…but in remembering you’ve carried a flame within you this whole time that nothing outside of you has ever been able to extinguish.
