Impervious Imperfect

🖤 Breathe deep, take care of all your pieces.

Not strong, nor weak, impervious imperfect. 🖤

This line comes from an original song that I recently wrote. It isn’t about pretending to have it all together but rather refusing to abandon yourself in the process of becoming who you’re meant to be.

For a long time, I thought strength meant pushing through without pause. I thought resilience meant never cracking. Real growth has asked something different of me, however. To slow down enough to notice the parts of myself I usually ignore, the exhausted pieces, the doubtful pieces, the pieces that still ache from things I thought I had already healed.

Taking care of all your pieces means not villainizing the parts that still tremble. It means not worshipping the parts that perform well under pressure. It means holding your whole self with a steady kind of honesty and acceptance.

Most of us live somewhere in between the extremes. We endure. We adapt. We carry histories and still wake up to try again. Impervious doesn’t mean unfeeling. It means rooted and everlasting. It means knowing that storms may bend you, but they don’t get to define you by the breaks.

The breath in your lungs right now is not a performance. It’s permission to reset, to care for yourself the way you care for everyone else. It’s the proof that we are alive.

So breathe deep.

Take inventory of your inner components.

Tend to what hurts and strengthen what supports you.

Move forward not as a polished ideal, but as a whole, integrated human being.

That is enough.

🪬💙🙏
