Set Fire

🔥 Set fire to that which is not meant for you.

Observe closely to see who fans the flames. 🔥

Fire has a way of being misunderstood.

Destructive by its very nature...though, it also brings life through sustenance and warmth. It reveals truths, clarifies subtleties. It burns off all that has been loosely left to fray.

Over the years, I’ve had to learn that not everything that hurts you is meant to be yours. Not every relationship, opportunity, habit, or identity is aligned with the reflection of who you really are. Some things only survive because you keep feeding them your time, your attention, or even your guilt or blame.

Setting fire to what is not meant for you isn’t a matter of reckless abandon, it’s an intentional ignition of all that prevents your prosperity. It’s a refusal to keep watering weeds just because they’ve been in your garden for as long as you can remember.

When you finally give-in to the change, when you grow, and refuse to participate in cycles that drain you, people will reveal themselves truly. Some will hand you water. Some will report you for arson. Some will hand you fuel.

Notice the difference.

The ones who truly love you won’t be threatened by your metamorphosis. They won’t stir chaos just to keep you small or attempt to dampen your cathartic engulfment. They’ll respect the burn. They’ll understand that sometimes renewal requires letting something else be reduced to ash.

This isn’t about revenge, but rather refinement. Burn the false narratives of who you are, and the expectations that were never yours to carry. Burn the version of you that existed only to keep others comfortable in your hearth. Be the forge that fuses together the ore of your pain and experiences into an impenetrable armor of self-love and acceptance.

Stand in what remains.

If something is meant for you, it will endure the fire. If someone is meant for you, they will find warmth in the heat of your transformation. Growth is like a flame, dancing delicately in a subtle breeze, consuming whatever source of fuel it is or is not provided.

Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself is strike the match...calmly and consciously...then step forward into the version of you that no longer apologizes for becoming. 🔥

🪬💙🙏
